Monday, March 3

This & That

The very nature of a Monday is unexpected chaos. Somehow, this is the day everything collides. I'm not sure how it happens...but Monday, you're universally loathed...sorry about that! Maybe I need to request a creative meeting with Friday and see about launching a "Support Monday" campaign. I'll add that to my list.

Much like my Monday schedule, my Monday thoughts are equally as aimless. Distracted...here and there...this and that...I need a genie in a bottle...what would my three wishes be? See....all over the place!

Here are a few of my squirrel-like thoughts for the day...gotta go, there's a nut!

1. The Parent Rap - Oh...my...cheese balls, this is a humdinger! It never gets old, seriously side-splitting! It seemed appropriate for today because I've already had a "little one saggin", "accessorized with food that's already been chewed", "wiped the doo doo and kissed the boo boo". And it's only lunch time! Whoosh!

"Mom, Mom, she's legit...makin' us chill when we pitch a fit!"

2. Sally Lloyd-Jones (author of The Jesus Storybook Bible) has a new children's book coming out on March 11th called Poor Doreen.

Now, Doreen is on a mission—to visit her second cousin twice removed who’s just had 157 babies… But unknown to her, she is dodging disaster at every turn on her journey upstream—oblivious to the mortal danger she is in! She remains an oblivious unfortunate fish, utterly clueless, despite the narrator’s panicky warnings along the way… like, “OH NO DOREEN! That’s not a dragonfly! IT’S A HOOK!”

Sally is holding a fun contest on her blog and there’s a chance to win your very own copy of Poor Doreen. Click here for all the details. It’s also available for preorder here on Barnes and Noble and here on Amazon.

3. Random Acts of Art - this article recently appeared in Family Fun Magazine, I was immediately inspired! Eight whimsical ways to scatter art around your community, with your kids! What could be more fun? Little Man and I have aluminum foil fish creating in our future...and if you see bird clothespins on your buggie at The Wal-Marts, just smile and know a little boy was thinking of you!

There you have it, a view inside my Monday mind. Hope it has made you smile, that was my goal for today. Gotta go...there's a nut!

PS. One final thought...

Have a great day!
